Jane had a birthday
Isn't it great
Not one or two or three
But eight!
How much she's grown
So wonderful, so wise
Our little girl
With her big brown eyes
When we look to find her
She's often lost in a book
Or laughing and playing
Giving us her knowing, naughty look
She's happy and lively
Unless its the dishes
She hates the unloading
For mom to forget this chore, she wishes
But Jane, oh Jane
If only eight you would remain
But as you grow
Remember, I love you; this I hope you know
