We were lucky enough to have Grandmum visit very close to her birthday and since everyone could use a little gushing over when its their birthday we went to town for her! This year was the year of the red velvet cake and while I think I can make mean cake I'm not sure that this is actually my favorite cake. Don't get me wrong, it was quite delicious, just maybe not my favorite. So next year I'll probably make her a tres leche cake which is fast becoming a favorite (and staple) in this household. But we're hoping this was a fabulous beginning to a great year for Grandmum.

Please e-mail me your tres leches cake recipe. I have made several and non of them are quite right. But, tres leches is one of my very favorite desserts.
