A whole lotta bull
So maybe I've acclimated to my new home a little too soon or a little too much or a little too whole-heartedly but last week we had a fantastic Idaho adventure. Now I know that some of you will think that I'm being sarcastic but truth be told there is not one bit of sarcasm in this when I tell that you that we went to a bull auction at the Riverbend Ranch and it was one of the most fascinating events I have ever been to. There were over 700 bulls auctioned off and I have never in my life seen someone with so much verbal talent (no disrepsect to all my lawyer friends and husband) as the autioneer. Really, in my next life, I think I want that talent or maybe I really just want to be one of the bidders. After watching a "real" cowboy bidding on bull after bull after bull I think I finally got the hang of how the bidding works so next year William had better watch out because I might just register for a number and we may become the proud owners of a bull. I wonder how that would go over with our homeowners association? Anyway, the kids thought it was amazing that we saw "real" cowboys because Mitchell swears he had no idea they existed anymore except that he did tell me that he saw a tumbleweed and that was a sign we lived in the wild west so there must be real cowboys somewhere and he was so relieved he finally saw them. So who knows but maybe we'll become "real" cowboys or bull owners or potato farmers while we live in Idaho but whatever we become we're having quite an adventure finding our way.

You are really setting down some spud roots aren't you. You go cowgirl! Oh, and you are a great decorator, you don't need my help. Although if you go all western themed I may have to burn your house down ;)
Burn down the house? With one of those bulls in the living room we wouldn't need any help trashing the place.
Like Carrie said, it was very cool.
Ha! Love it. I've actually been to the very same bull auction. It really is amazing just to see the hardcore cowboys - I stared at them more than I paid attention to what was going on in the ring.
You went to a cowboy fest and didn't invite me? :P j/k. I had my chance at find a cowboy while I was down there.... Oh for missed opportunities!
I can only hope that you dressed appropriately. You have the perfect outfit after all. Truthfully, I'm not sure how I feel about this post. It's making me a little nervous.
Hey, Macy's is having a Twilight release party this weekend. If we wear old prom dresses we get a free corsage and then we get to watch the movie in the dairy section...are you in?
I admire your proactivness so much! Whenever I need the extra boost to get out and see NYC I just read your blog. You are inspirational...when are pic's of the house going to come?
I can't really believe you went to a bull auction. However I praise you for fully embracing your new surroundings. I will not be happy if I see you this weekend in ropers and chaps.
Slowly, but surely, the Idaho cowgirl in you is coming out :). Can't wait to see all the fuss up there when we come visit.
